His new role will include responsibility for the company's head office building in Oldham, its vehicle fleet and maintaining and developing sustainable IT services across the business.

Peacock said: "This is an exciting opportunity for me and I am looking forward to helping Emanuel Whittaker deliver high-quality services that reflect the evolving needs of the business and its customers."

Emanuel Whittaker was established 175 years ago and employs 100 staff. The company works with local authorities and social landlords across the North West including Salix Homes, City West Housing Trust, First Choice Homes Oldham and Symphony Housing Group.

In recent months, the company won contracts with Rochdale Boroughwide Housing and Your Housing Group.
