Ekosgen advises URC on Irwell City Park

Manchester-based regeneration consultancy Ekosgen has been appointed to advise on the delivery of Irwell City Park.

The consultancy will be working with Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company and the local authority partners behind the scheme to open up the River Irwell and put it back at the heart of the city region.

Ekosgen is tasked with evaluating how investment should be phased over the next five years, assessing the economic benefits of key projects and developing a funding strategy to draw in public and private sector support.

The Irwell City Park project includes the development of an internationally-recognised waterfront destination for Greater Manchester along an 8km stretch of the River Irwell.

The project is being delivered in partnership with Manchester City Council, Salford City Council, Trafford Council and the North West Development Agency.
