Edge Hill refurb scheme comes to market

Liverpool City Council is seeking a development partner to bring an old fire station and pub on the outskirts of the city back into use.

The project at 63-67 Durning Road in the Edge Hill area of Kensington will cost in the region of £1.5m to £5m depending on detailed plans. The developer is expected to finance the project themselves and obtain planning. The fire station and Shipperies pub buildings are Grade II-listed.

The brief suggests a mix of commercial, residential and community uses for the adjacent buildings. The project must be finished within 12 months and, upon completion, the developer will be granted a 125-year lease.

Heritage Works advised Liverpool City Council on the feasibility study for the project.
