Eddisons auction tops £3.5m

The auctioneer sold 74% of the lots offered, 52 out of 72, at its final Manchester sale of the year.

There was strong demand for residential stock across the North West, with 90% of lots in that section of the auction sold.

Highlights included a tenanted mixed retail and residential property in Little Sutton, Ellesmere Port, generating £16,980 a year, which sold for £148,000 off a guide of £135,000.

Andrew Brown, auctioneer at Eddisons, said: "This was an excellent sale to complete what has been a very successful auction year.

"The room was extremely busy and buyers responded positively to the sensibly priced stock."

An investment property in Wallasey comprising two retail sales units and 10 office suites, producing income of £28,500 a year, sold for £160,000 – a return of nearly 18%.

Meanwhile, 0.34 acres of land with redevelopment potential in Walton, Liverpool, sold for £80,000.
