DTM Legal promotes Pearson to partner

Chester-based DTM Legal has promoted Thomas Pearson from associate to partner, who heads up the commercial property team.

Pearson joined the firm as associate in October 2008 when it was launched and has extensive experience in property finance work.

Speaking about his promotion, Pearson said: "I'm really pleased and it is always nice to be recognised for the work you are doing but particularly to be part of a growing company. Since we set up the law firm in 2008, the firm has doubled in size in the last eighteen months.

"The key area I work in is commercial freehold property and I've carried out development work, acting and advising for both commercial and residential developers, from the initial site acquisition through to unit sales.

"The other key areas I work within includes landed estate work throughout Cheshire and North Wales, which involves liaising with land agents or land owners providing legal advice relating to land and high value farm sales, auctions, and agricultural work. The largest site I've advised on has been 6,000 acres.

"We've recently taken on a large property portfolio nationwide and secured some lending work."

Pearson heads a team that includes consultants Tonina Mycock, Matthew Robinson, and Peter Collins. Raury Mason, a solicitor in DTM's Commercial Litigation team, also works alongside the commercial property team, who deals in property disputes.

DTM Legal is located at Archway House in Station Road in Chester city centre.
