Drivers Jonas appointed on MMU campus design

Planning consultancy Drivers Jonas has been appointed by Manchester Metropolitan University to advise on its property portfolio as it prepares to deliver a new £70m campus in Hulme.

DJ will masterplan the Hulme project, in Birley Fields, as well as setting out a long-term development framework for MMU's wider property portfolio. Birley Fields will combine MMU's existing facilities in Rusholme and Didsbury.

DJ is already advising MMU on plans to combine its two Cheshire campuses in Crewe that has included a masterplan for the soon-to-be vacated site at Alsager.

John Weir, partner at DJ, said: "With its substantial land holdings and progressive development plans, MMU plays a pivotal role in the regional economy. Our strategic planning advice will help shape much of their plans for future expansion."
