Dransfield signs McDonald’s in Openshaw

JMW Solicitors has advised Yorkshire-based Dransfield Properties on a deal to bring a McDonald's to Lime Square, the new district centre in east Manchester.

McDonald's will build a two-storey restaurant and drive-thru totalling 5,239 sq ft, and trialling a new design concept for the US fast food chain.

The first phase of the Lime Square development included a Morrisons supermarket, which opened in November 2010. The second phase attracted B&M Bargains, Poundland and Greggs, which all opened earlier this year. The McDonald's is set to complete by spring 2013.

Ian Gordon, partner in the commercial property team at JMW, advised Dransfield, a long-standing client of the law firm.
