DPP pre-packs to write off debt
National planning consultancy DPP, which has an office in Manchester, has put its operating company DPP Consulting into administration and transferred its assets to a new company retaining the title of DPP.
DPP said in a statement: "Moving forward the directors and professional staff of the former business along with the existing income stream will move across to this new company.
"Maintaining the high standard of customer care and delivery to clients that DPP is renowned for across the industry remains our top priority during this time. Our professional team will continue to operate and service clients to its existing capacity across our specialist planning, heritage and sustainability areas and via our new company will deliver greater flexibility and closer director-led service to our clients."
Thirty seven staff moved across and nine support staff were made redundant.
The DPP Manchester team now comprises eight members of staff. The last round of redundancies which took place prior to the business going into administration resulted in one administrative team member and one member of the professional team being made redundant. DPP are now based at 53 Abbey Business Centre, Fountain Street.
Easier than paying your creditors eh…. that the law allows them to set up a new company with the same or very similar name so they don’t even lose their goodwill with clients always galls me. Competitors who priced jobs based on being able to pay their bills probably lost work to this outfit as well. Perhaps the article could set out how much debt the directors have left in the hands of others by completing this prepack?
