DPD expands Carlisle depot
The parcel delivery company has more than doubled the size of its depot at Kingmoor Park with a 25,000 sq ft extension.
The unit is on the Carlisle Northern Development Route and now extends to 41,000 sq ft. The depot is part of a network of 52 DPD centres located throughout the UK employing over 7,000 people nationwide.
DPD Carlisle employs 120 staff at Kingmoor Park.
Landlord Kingmoor Park Properties carried out a £600,000 customisation of the unit to assist with the expansion.
David Elliott, depot manager at DPD Carlisle said: "Due to DPD's continued high levels of growth, it became essential that we expand our existing premises. Kingmoor Park has enabled us to more than double our depot size to ensure we can continue to deliver the amazing service that DPD is renowned for. I have plans to recruit an additional 30 drivers during 2015."
