Downing lets office to insurance brokers
Independent insurance brokers Butterworth Spengler has taken 1,500 sq ft on the forth floor at 1 Old Hall Street in Liverpool city centre.
Butterworth Spengler moved into the new office two weeks ago after agreeing a lease with owners and building managers Downing. Details of the rental agreement were not disclosed.
Butterworth Spengler said it will retain its 4,000 sq ft UK headquarters in Garston, south Liverpool.
In addition, Butterworth Spengler has made three new appointments with Andrew Thomson, Alan Tune and James Jaycock joining the firm from Oval. All of them have experience in commercial and general insurance brokerage.
Butterworth Spengler said it expects up to 15 members of staff will join the new corporate office within the next year, which is headed up by Mark Robinson.
John Lacey, director at Butterworth Spengler, pictured third from the left with the new staff, added: "With Mark at the helm of our new city centre office confidence is high and I believe this is the right time to buck the trend and invest in new talent to help us embark on a period of expansion."
Although Butterworth agreed the lease on the office at 1 Old Hall Street with Downing directly, Keppie Massie is also the sole agent on the 65,000 sq ft building.
