Downing lets office at Port of Liverpool

Downing has let a 3,000 sq ft suite on the first floor of the Port of Liverpool Building to commercial insurance broker Powell Bateson.

The commercial insurance broker is a newly established business set up by directors Elliot Powell and Karen Bateson which is opening its first office in Liverpool.

The firm has agreed on a ten year for an undisclosed sum on the Grade II-listed property, located on Liverpool's Pier Head in the city centre.

The suite has been fully refurbished as part of a wider £15m restoration programme of The Port of Liverpool Building.

Staff from Powell Bateson will have use of on-site parking as well as spaces in Downing's The Capital car park on Old Hall Street.

Karen Bateson, from Powell Bateson, said: "Having our company in such a historic and striking building was a real dealmaker for us. The office environment is exceptional and includes all of the facilities we would expect to provide for staff and clients."

Downing is also reporting strong interest in suites released to the market at the start of September, which includes an 8,330 sq ft office suite on the second floor, which can be split to provide 3,775 sq ft or extended to 9,479 sq ft.
