Dock Office resi scheme approved

Salford City Council has granted planning permission for the residential conversion of the Dock Office building in Salford Quays.

The proposals from Liveman Properties will see the 60,000 sq ft block converted into 67 apartments, with a two-storey glazed roof extension. The flats will have a mix of one to four bedrooms.

Dock Office Salford roofDock Office was built in 1926 for the Manchester Ship Canal Company. The property is currently largely empty with a few tenants on short term leases that are due to expire this year.

AKM Property Consultants acquired the block on behalf of Liveman Properties from receivers GVA in April for around £2.6m. Liveman is a consortium of private investors established in order to buy the Dock Office, led by Guy and Michael Marsden.

DV Architects designed the scheme.
