Director sought for £90k Chester regeneration role

Chester Renaissance, the newly created regeneration agency for the city, is recruiting its first director.

Adverts have been placed for the £90,000-a-year role, which is described as a "demanding mixture of development management, advocacy and partnership working".

The agency aims to "build on the city's heritage, ensure the city is a wonderful place for people to live in or visit and is an outstanding setting for business."

The delivery programme totals £1.5bn of investment although its largest scheme, the £400m Northgate development with ING Real Estate is currently on hold due to the dire market.

Other work ongoing in the city includes Liberty Properties' 250,000 sq ft HQ office building next to Chester Racecourse and widespread public realm works funded by the North West Development Agency.
