DfE’s privately financed schools move forward

A bidders' day organised by the Department for Education is due to be held in Wigan on Wednesday 23 October for contractors competing to build 12 schools in the third wave of the national Private School Building Programme.

The North West is the third private finance batch in the programme, following the Hertfordshire, Luton and Reading batch, and the North East batch.

The North West proposal is for 12 schools including two first schools, the Deanery Church of England High School and Sixth Form Centre in Wigan and Plymouth Grove Primary school in Manchester.

The main part of the bidders' day will take place at the Deanery Church of England High School and Sixth Form Centre from 1pm next Wednesday. There will be optional tours of Plymouth Grove Primary School on the following morning. The bidders' day will provide an opportunity to hear more about this batch and details of how interested parties can get involved.

  • If you would like to register your interest for the North West bidders' day, please email your name, title, organisation, contact number and email address to the email address below. Please also indicate whether you will be attending the tour of Plymouth Grove Primary School on 24 October. Email: NW-PF.PSBP@education.gsi.gov.uk
