Developer chosen for Woodford Lodge school site

Cheshire West & Chester Council has selected Keepmoat Homes to bring forward a residential development on a 30-acre brownfield plot on the outskirts of Winsford town centre.

The council is the freehold owner of the former Woodford Lodge High School site, and launched the tender process to find a developer last November.

The site has capacity to deliver a total of 300 homes.

A condition of a development deal was that any plans for the site include a 30% affordable housing element, which the council would then purchase from the developer.

The remaining school buildings were demolished earlier this year.

A planning application for the scheme will be submitted later this year.
