Designs revealed for 2 Angel Square
The Co-operative Group has released concept designs for the 200,000 sq ft 2 Angel Square office block in Manchester.
The scheme has been worked up by AHR Architects, with plans to submit a planning application by the end of April. The office has been scheduled to complete by the end of 2018.
2 Angel Square is part of the second phase of the Co-operative Group and Hermes Real Estate's 20-acre NOMA development near to Manchester Victoria Railway Station. The £800m scheme will be delivered over 10-25 years.
Stage two includes the 95,000 sq ft office, retail and leisure renovation of Hanover House which is due to complete in 2016, Moda Living's Angel Gardens 400-apartment scheme which is awaiting planning approval, and a proposed third office block, the 200,000 sq ft 3 Angel Square.
The Casey Group is currently on site delivering New City Square, a public realm area designed by Planit-IE.

I appreciate there will have been studies conducted for demand but who is going to fill all these offices? What with Eastbank coming on line too – aren’t we going to have a lot of empty offices in Manchester?
