Derwent signs M&S Foodhall in Wirral

Marks & Spencer Foodhall has signed a lease for a 10,500 sq ft store at Derwent Group’s Junction 1 Retail Park in Bidston Moss, Wallasey, and expects to be trading before April 2016.

James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager at Derwent, said: “Marks & Spencer Foodhall’s commitment to Junction 1 Retail Park is fantastic news for the park. Having a high quality and a budget food offering with both M&S and Aldi on site means we now have the full package for customers at Junction 1.

“It’s been a great year of lettings for Junction 1 and Derwent Group in general and we’re confident of finding the right deals to ensure we’re fully let at Bidston in 2016.”

The Derwent Group is also in legals with Marks & Spencer Foodhall at another site within its portfolio and hopes to be in a position to announce the completion of this before the year end.

Junction 1 Retail Park is next to the M53, linking to Liverpool and the Wallasey Tunnel. Pets at Home, Home Bargains and Carpetright have all signed in the past 15 months, leaving two remaining units to let at the site, one of 7,400 sq ft and another of 9,900 sq ft. A third of 7,225 sq ft is currently under construction.

Landlord agent for the Derwent Group was Petch & Co and Cheetham & Mortimer acted for Marks & Spencer Foodhall.

Another good letting for Derwent following our planning work. Great to see the tenant roster improving across the sites.
