DEP wins BSF work in Preston

Landscape architects, Donaldson Edwards Partnership, has landed a contract at the new Fulwood Academy in Preston.

The school was one of six unaffected in Lancashire by this week's BSF freeze; another ten were stopped in the county.

Planning permission is in place for the £21m scheme which involves the construction of a new-build academy on the site of an existing secondary school.

Main contractor Bovis Lend Lease appointed Manchester-based DEP on the work, which includes playgrounds, outdoor learning areas, playing fields, all-weather pitches, multi-use game areas and tennis courts. DEP is also involved in the site's access strategy including boundary fencing, walls and gates.

The building architect is Capita. The project is scheduled for completion by August 2012.
