Demick instructs Nolan Redshaw on residential site

London-based Demick Shipping has appointed the independent property consultant to market a seven-acre residential-led development site in Tarleton, west Lancashire.

The site, which was formerly home to a large textile mill, is set in a rural location, mid-way between Preston and Southport and fronts the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

Demick acquired the site in 2003 and has subsequently received planning permission for 70 new houses to be built on the site, alongside 37,135 sq ft of commercial space, to include a mix of office and industrial starter units.

Demick is now looking for a housing developer to take the site forward.

Mike Redshaw, director of Nolan Redshaw, said: "This is the first significant piece of residential land to be released in Tarleton since the mid 90's and due to Tarleton's reputation as a high value residential area, we have already received interest from a number of the major house builders, prior to the site coming on to the market. We expect to see some strong competition for this site."
