Delta-Simons sets up Manchester base

Delta-Simons Environmental Consultants has hired Kelvin Hughes, a chartered geologist formerly at EC Harris, as technical director to establish a North West office.

Hughes has 26 years' of experience in due diligence and compliance auditing, environmental planning and assessment and redevelopment of land subjected to contaminative use within the property development, manufacturing, chemical, oil and gas and public sectors.

The firm has taken an office in Peter House in Oxford Street, Manchester. Hughes is based in Manchester full-time, while divisional director Damian Robinson will divide his time between Leeds and Manchester.

Delta-Simons aims to expand to five staff in the North West over the next few months, building a team of environment professionals to deliver site assessments and operations due diligence.

Damian Robinson, divisional director responsible for the Delta-Simons expansion, said: "Kelvin is a key strategic hire and will assist us with our planned expansion of services within all sectors both nationally and regionally. I look forward to supporting Kelvin and for us to play an active part in the North West market, which is a strategic region for us in terms of market growth, recruitment and long-term security of our business."
