Decipher brings in ex-Deloitte man

Former Deloitte partner Peter Wilkinson has joined construction consultancy Decipher as a non-executive director.

Wilkinson, who has more than 30 years experience in construction and led a construction advisory and capital projects team for 20 years, was made an equity partner at Drives Jonas in 1999.

Following DJ’s takeover by Deloitte, he  the same status with the Big Four firm until his departure in May.

Based in Manchester, Macclesfield and London, Decipher provides support in construction and project and programme management and also offers dispute resolution.

Established in 2001, Decipher said Wilkinson’s appointment is part of a series of moves as it looks to gear up for growth in the UK and worldwide – the business recently teamed up with a Dubai firm to provide services in the Middle East.

Managing director Paul Gibbons said: “This is likely to be seen as an unusual move for a small consultancy such as ours. But the opportunity to work with someone of Peter’s calibre is exceptional.

“Peter brings with him a wealth of experience, particularly for our capital projects and public works team which we anticipate will be bolstered by Peter’s knowledge.”

Wilkinson, who has set up a business called Peter Wilkinson Advisory since leaving Deloitte, added: “I’m delighted to be joining this progressive and forward thinking business as a non-executive director, and look forward to helping them grow and develop into new markets across the UK and worldwide.”
