Davies Harrison wins Remploy instruction

Johnson Control Systems, asset manager of the state-owned Remploy portfolio, has appointed agents Davies Harrison to dispose of seven premises in the North West.

The portfolio totals nearly 250,000 sq ft. Six properties are for sale, ranging from 14,680 sq ft to 84,636 sq ft, in Birkenhead, Bolton, Oldham, South Manchester, Wrexham and Wigan.

A 29,812 sq ft warehouse in Longridge Road, Preston is available on a leasehold basis with quoting rents of £4.50/sq ft.

Rick Davies, partner at Davies Harrison, said: "This is an extremely important and high profile instruction for us. All the properties are strategically situated in prominent locations and offer a diverse range of potential end uses including redevelopment."

Earlier this year, the government said it would close most of the Remploy factories and focus policy on other forms of support. Remploy trains and employs disabled people and aims to place them in mainstream jobs.
