David Wilson Homes secures consent in Kirkdale

Architectural practice Taylor Young has secured planning permission for 294 homes in Kirkdale, Liverpool on behalf of David Wilson Homes.

The development will be the second phase of the transformation of the former Easby estate and forms part of the Housing Market Renewal Initiative in Liverpool's city centre north zone.

There will be apartments and houses ranging from two to four bedrooms, including 44 affordable homes.

A show-home opened in January at the first phase, called St John's Place.

Neil Lewin, director of Taylor Young, said: "The developer and our town planning and architecture team have worked in partnership with Liverpool City Council through its housing renewal team, along with the community to prepare a regeneration scheme that delivers the aims of HMR, and is founded on robust place making and good urban design principles."

Work is due to start on site in March 2011. David Wilson Homes is part of Barratt Group.
