Darbys builds regional base

Senior construction lawyers Andy Rimmer and Emma Judge have left Systech Solicitors' Manchester office to boost the fledgling North West operation of Darbys in Hale, Trafford.

Both also worked together at Pannone, where Rimmer was head of construction before he left in June 2009 to run the regional Systech office.

Simon McCrum, Darbys managing partner, says "There is only one way to deliver construction law services, and that is to have the best construction lawyers. In Andy Rimmer and Emma Judge, we have just that. Andy and Emma add to the array of services we already offer as a full-service law firm, and they will be working with us to roll out our revolutionary BLUE LAW legal support scheme for businesses. This is a significant step forward for our business, and taken together with other hires we have made it means our North West office is way ahead of where we thought it would be when we opened it six months ago."

Darbys' head office is in Oxford. The Hale office now employs nine people.
