CWAC to hold supplier network events

Cheshire West & Chester Council's procurement team is holding three events in March to inform general building contractors how to bid to be part of its low value construction framework.

The framework is aimed to be in place by autumn 2011 and last for four years and will select suppliers to carry out general building works throughout the borough.

The council said it will consist of a number of lots with various value bandings.

Advisors from Business Link will be in attendance at the three supplier network events to offer wider business support.

The events take place on the following days:

  • Wednesday 9 March – Registration 4pm-4.30pm, ends 6.30pm, Ellesmere Port Boat Museum
  • Wednesday 16 March – Registration 7.30am-8am, ends 10.30am, Chester HQ Building, Nicholas Street
  • Thursday 17 March – Registration 4pm-4.30pm, ends 6.30pm, Northwich Memorial Hall

The council said all tenders will be advertised on the council's electronic tendering system provided by Due North.

All potential suppliers to Cheshire West & Chester will need to register with the North West's local authority procurement portal website, The Chest.

The council added that tender documents and supplier responses are handled electronically to allow a shorter procurement timescale and a more efficient process overall. Local suppliers will be invited to choose to bid on one or all of the available lots.
