CWAC seeks design review panellists

Cheshire West & Chester Council is advertising for design professionals who share a passion for the built environment and quality place-making to form a new design review group to assess development proposals.

Here at CWaC we understand the importance of good design and the benefit of design review in helping to shape and better the places where we live, work and play; and are establishing a Design Review Panel to provide expert, independent design advice. This is your opportunity to contribute to the quality of development in the built environment across a broad range of developments and deliver a step change in the approach to design in our borough.

The Panel will be an important addition to the Council's design review process and is intended to enhance our capabilities in achieving architectural and urban design excellence.

We are seeking applications from the following fields: architecture, urban design, sustainable design, accessibility, landscape architecture, the historic environment, engineering, the arts, planning, investment and development.

The panel will be appointed for an inaugural year with a potential two-year extension. Whilst membership of the panel will not be remunerated, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. There will be 5 meetings per annum, comprising of 4 hours per design review meeting. Panel members will be invited to attend approximately 2 meeting per year.

We look forward to hearing from interested parties and would ask that you please supply a CV (max 3 pages) along with a summary highlighting your skills and interest in this exciting initiative (250 words).
