Cumbrian holiday park sold

Thanet Well Country Park has been sold to the Darwin Leisure Property Fund, after it was marketed for offers of more than £3m.

The 10-acre holiday park has 63 timber holiday lodges, and is in Greystoke, close to the North West edge of the Lake District National Park.

It was sold by real estate advisors Colliers International on behalf of park management company Bridge Leisure.

The 63 pitches are used as 37 lodges to hire, 15 privately-owned lodges, two lodges for staff, four privately-owned static caravans and five vacant pitches.

The sale also included a 1.5-acre plot of land that could be used for further development subject to the relevant planning permission.

Richard Moss, director of the specialist parks division at Colliers International, said: "Thanet Well provides an excellent opportunity to benefit from the strong UK holiday short stay market while also providing excellent future sales opportunities by filling the vacant pitches and potentially developing additional pitches.

"The park offers excellent access to the Lake District – a major draw for both private and short stay visitors – but is away from the hustle and bustle of the popular tourist towns."
