Cumbria councils name winners on £120m framework
Twenty contractors have been awarded places on a £120m capital works framework, delivering schemes on behalf of a collection of Cumbrian councils and the university.
The framework, which is set to run until 2024, will serve the Cumbria, Carlisle, Allerdale, Eden, Copeland, Barrow, South Lakeland councils, alongside the Lake District National Park, and the University of Cumbria.
The capital works programme covers highway maintenance, schools and corporate property maintenance, new-build schemes, and flood prevention works. Developments may also include care homes and fire stations.
Split into four lots, places have been allocated to a list of SMEs and larger contractors, on property projects with a value of £50,000 to £450,000, and £350,000 to £5m, and civil works with a value of £50,000 to £450,000, and £350,000 to £5m.
