Crewe college facility up for RICS award

The new facility for South Cheshire College in Crewe, built by BAM Construction, has been shortlisted in two categories at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors North West Awards 2011.

BAM Construction was shortlisted for five awards in different categories in the awards. The shortlisted projects include St Peters Square in Stockport, Culcheth High School in Warrington and Bolton College. South Cheshire College was shortlisted in the design and innovation and sustainability categories.

Steve Byrne, director of BAM Construction in the North West, said: "I'm really pleased that BAM's projects have featured for so many different aspects of the builds, from the quality of the design and the commercial impact through to the way the buildings perform and how we worked with our clients and their communities. It's a very healthy sign for us as a company and for our clients and sub-contractors with whom we've worked so closely to complete these, that so many of our projects are shortlisted."

The winners will be announced on 12 May at Lancashire County Cricket Club and regional winners will be automatically entered into the national RICS Awards, where they compete against other leading projects from across the UK.
