Create selected for university work

Blackpool-based Create Construction has won the £5m contract to refurbish the Furness Building at Lancaster University.

The 54,000 sq ft, four-storey building houses Furness College and the four divisions of the School of Health and Medicine.

The 12-month contract will cover works including new windows, cleaning of existing brickwork, replacement of all services, replacement of roof finishes and the refurbishment of retained walkway canopies. An externally located lift is proposed for a corner of the courtyard.

Completion is scheduled for September 2012.
