Neil Holland, a former Hilton executive, has been appointed to the newly created role to help progress the Blackpool-based hotel developer’s pipeline schemes.
Create Developments, part of Create Group, is currently delivering its second Hampton by Hilton hotel in Greater Manchester, as well as starting an extension to its Hampton by Hilton hotel in Blackpool, and there are other plans in the pipeline.
As development manager, Holland will help the company deliver a strategic growth plan, which will see it aim to expand its hotel portfolio across the North West.
He was previously director of projects for the Hilton hotel brand and has 35 years’ experience in project management in the UK and European hospitality industry, having held senior roles in other companies including Whitbread, Wetherspoons, IHG and several US-based blue chip franchise businesses.
Holland is a chartered quantity surveyor and an expert in modular construction methods. He will be working alongside Create’s chief executive Paul Mathison, development managers Jim Storey and Paul Rooney, and brand director Gill Mathison.
Holland said: “I am delighted to be joining the company during its period of growth. I have worked closely with Create in my role at Hilton Group and share the passion and enthusiasm they apply to all their developments.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team on some exciting new opportunities.”
Chief executive Mathison added: “Create Developments is going from strength to strength and Neil brings a new dynamic to our team, especially with his expertise on branded hotels.
“With several other prestigious hotel development projects now in the pipeline, Neil’s input will be crucial in bringing our strategic growth plans to fruition.”
