CPUK wins contract for Loreto teaching block

Construction Partnership UK is set to start work this month on a new £1.95m teaching block at Loreto College in Hulme, Manchester.

The new building will include a new entrance and reception for the college's Chichester Road South campus.

Situated in the existing college grounds, the brick-clad block will also house classrooms and new amenities areas for students and staff.

Building is due for completion in July next year.

The architect for the project is IBI Taylor Young.

Steve Burke, managing director of Skelmersdale-based CPUK, said: "The contract with Loreto College will see us creating a modern, stylish education block that will greatly enhance the existing facilities that exist on campus.

"The focus will be to carry out this work with the minimum of disruption to students and staff studying and working in the existing buildings.

"The new amenities the building will create for the college will be open for students arriving to study at the start of the academic year in 2014."
