CPUK starts Salford student halls

Construction Partnership UK has won a £7m contract to build a five-storey, 242-bed student accommodation development in Salford.

Development vehicle Salford Student LLP appointed CPUK nto build Riveerside House, which is due to take Salford University students for the next academic year starting in September 2013.

The project was designed by the Leach Rhodes Walker in Manchester.

Steve Burke, managing director of CPUK, said: "This is a negotiated contract for us and we have been appointed because of our excellent record of delivery, on time and to budget.
"We also have a reputation for our ability to work on challenging inner-city projects and the development here is on a restricted and tight city centre site."

The contract includes external works, car parking, cycle storage and external perimeter security fencing with access control.
