Countryside gains approval for more Salford apartments

Countryside Properties has been granted planning permission from Salford City Council for the next phase of its regeneration scheme in Lower Broughton.

The application, over 4.2 acres, included 160 apartments in five blocks alongside 37 family houses, car parking, and open space together with improved road access. The site is located on Lucy Street at the junction of Camp Street and Great Clowes Street.

The site forms part of a large outline planning permission which was granted by Salford City Council in 2006.

Set within an overall area of 180 acres, New Broughton is situated on the eastern side of Salford. The regeneration proposals were developed over the past three years in conjunction with Salford City Council, Contour Housing Group and through discussion and consultation with the local community.
