Council to set up £6m highways framework

Manchester City Council is looking to establish a four year framework with six companies to supply a surface product for Greater Manchester's roads.

The council is seeking construction companies that can provide the road base product dense bituminous macadam and other associated products.

The estimated total value of purchases for the entire duration of the framework agreement is estimated to cost between £5m and £6m excluding VAT.

The framework will be for two years with an option to extend for up to an additional two years.

The council is procuring on behalf of the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities.

However, the framework is open to and may be used by other Manchester partners including local authorities Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackpool Council, Cheshire East Council, and Warrington Council.

Deadline for submitting tenders is 7pm on Thursday 11 August.

Companies will need to register to the North West's local authority procurement portal website, The Chest.
