Council rejects homes in Bury industrial area

Proposals for 37 homes to be built next to an industrial site in Bury have been refused planning by the council.

Castleland Properties proposed to build the houses on a site in James Street, Pimhole, which meant demolishing a mill currently occupying the site.

The site is surrounded by scrap yards and the East Lancashire Railway line. The council felt that there would be too much noise from the surrounding sites for the residents if the scheme was given the go-ahead.
