Contractors bid for £18m South Manchester housing work

Didsbury-based Southway Housing Trust is embarking on the latest phase of its refurbishment programme with a budget set between £15m and £18m to reclad 5,900 homes under its control.

Contractors can bid to deliver external insulated cladding and replacement windows, doors and roofs along with general external refurbishment works on houses and cottage flats around South Manchester estates.

Southway said the refurbishment programme will last for 19 months from the award of the contract.

This latest wave of work is part of a £107m programme that started in November 2007.
