The University of Bolton is looking for a contractor to deliver the £6m construction of a new Centre for Advanced Performance Engineering, as part of a science, technology, engineering and mathematics facility.
The building at the university’s Deane Road campus will include a National Centre for Motorsport & Engineering with a focus on high performance cars. It will also include sports facilities for use by the university, the technical college and Bolton Sixth Form College.
The university is investing £10m in the project. The current CAPE centre will be used for teaching and studio space by other departments.
Work on the project is due to begin in February 2016, with a scheduled completion date of September 2016 in time for the next academic year.
