Consultation resumes into Knowsley local plan

The final round of consultation on Knowsley's Local Plan: Core Strategy starts today and will run for six weeks.

The plan will determine the nature of change and development in the borough for years to come. Draft plans include building 8,000 new homes by 2028, creating new employment space and new town centre and district centre retail.

Cllr Dave Lonergan, cabinet member for regeneration, economy and skills at Knowsley Council, said: "I would urge residents to take the time to look over this document as it sets out how and where development in Knowsley will take place in the future. Many people have already taken the opportunity to have their say in earlier rounds of consultation, but this is the final opportunity to submit a formal comment before the council submits the plan to government for examination and eventually adopts it. Everyone is encouraged to respond using the formal channels provided. This will help us set in place a blueprint for the future that will make Knowsley a better, more prosperous and more attractive place to live."

The Core Strategy Proposed Submission Document can be found at www.knowsley.gov.uk/LocalPlan from Thursday 8 November where you can view the plan and its supporting documents. Hard copies are also available at all Knowsley One Stop Shops and libraries.
