Consent for Lower Darwen units

Blackburn with Darwen Council has granted planning permission to the redevelopment of a former munitions factory site on Roman Road into a 49,000 sq ft light industrial scheme.

The 4.5-acre cleared plot in Lower Darwen is situated in a primary employment area so is well suited for the development of employment buildings. The planning permission allows for the creation of three separate buildings, to be used for research and development, light industrial or storage and distribution use.

The site owner is RSM Restructuring Advisory, advised by CBRE’s Manchester planning and development team.

Edward Harvey, senior planner at CBRE’s Manchester office, said: “The scheme will have direct regeneration benefits for the local area through the creation of employment opportunities associated with the construction and operation of the development.”

WHR is the appointed agent.
