Conlon on site with Cheshire waste plant

Conlon Construction has started on a waste recycling centre for Cheshire West & Chester Council in Winsford.

The project will see a former vehicle workshop transformed into a sorting and packaging centre for recyclable waste collected by council wagons, such as paper, steel cans and glass.

Winsford Operations Depot Recycling Centre will replace the council's premises in Northwich which closed down as part of a regeneration project for the area.

Michael Conlon said: "There have been some unusual elements to the process, for instance filling in the old inspection pits in the floor of the former garage to form a brand new recycling management area. The building will also become home to equipment recovered from another council depot for the compacting and baling of cans, so you could say some of the equipment and the building itself are being recycled too. Work is due for completion by the end of March."
