Conlon continues school run

Conlon Construction has won £1.3m of work on two primary school projects in Cheshire.

The company is adding a single storey extension at Offley Primary in Sandbach which will link two separate school buildings together. The contract, for Cheshire East Council, will provide a new main entrance as well as office accommodation for administration staff.

At Westminster Park's Belgrave Primary, Conlon is carrying out extensive refurbishments of classrooms including new roofing, curtain walling, cladding, damp proofing, plaster, soft flooring and redecoration. The contract was awarded by Cheshire West & Chester Council.

Michael Conlon, construction director at the firm, said: "As a company we have completed over 200 projects in schools and colleges across the North West and like to use our experience in the sector to educate children about the potential hazards of playing on construction sites. It's important for us to make learning about health and safety fun for the young people who might be affected by work we undertake and help them understand what we are doing."
