Concert Living hires commercial manager

The private residential arm of Leyland-based housing association Progress Housing has appointed Stuart Redfern to manage its build contracts.

As commercial manager, Redfern will manage several forthcoming construction contracts for the housebuilder that are due to start on site later this year.

He will also manage build contracts on additional pipeline sites Concert Living is bringing forward in the Lancashire area.

In April, Concert Living bought agricultural land off Church Road in Weeton from Northern Trust, with a view to bringing forward 40 homes. It aims to start this project in the autumn.

The company is a relatively new entrant to the private residential market in the North West.

Prior to his appointment, Redfern was commercial manager at Preston-based housebuilder Applethwaite Homes, part of Eric Wright Group, which he left to manage Phoenix Surveying Services earlier this year.

He has worked for other North West residential developers in his 24-year career, including as commercial manager at Mulbury Homes and Stewart Milne Homes North West England, and as quantity surveyor at Wainhomes, Elite Homes and Charlton Homes.

Laurie Lane, land and planning director at Concert Living, said: “We have several sites in the North West due to start over the next twelve months, so it’s a really exciting time for Stuart to be joining us.

Redfern added: “I’m looking forward to helping establish Concert Living as a recognised brand within the open market housing sector, and joining a growing business at a key time when they are evolving to commence building their own product.”
