Completion for £11m Wirral extra care home

Regeneration firm Vistry Partnerships has handed over a 78-apartment facility in Saughall Massie to housing association Alpha Living.

Designed by Pozzoni Architecture, the £11m Woodpecker Close development features 60 one-bedroom and 18 two-bedroom apartments, which will be available for affordable rent for people over the age of 55.

Amenities within the building, known as Poppyfields, include a bistro, hair salon, spa, and wellbeing suite.

The development also features a 2,100 sq ft office that will be used by Alpha as its headquarters. Alpha will also provide 24-hour care and support for residents.

The project was partly funded by Homes England.

Galliford Try Partnerships began the two-year build programme in July 2019 but the company has since rebranded.

Vistry Partnerships, part of listed Vistry Group, was created in January 2020 when Bovis Homes bought Galliford Try’s Linden Homes and Partnerships & Regeneration businesses for £1.1bn.
