Competition offers support for green buyers

Envirolink Northwest is inviting applications from procurement professionals in property and regeneration interested in gaining support and funding to progress sustainable policies in their organisations.

Envirolink's Buy Recycled Code Sustainable Procurement Support Package competition is being run to support North West organisations to develop and embed sustainable procurement policy and practice. Applications are invited from organisations in the North West region that are able to demonstrate the time, resources and commitment to take the next step.

The support builds upon successful sustainable procurement support delivered by Envirolink Northwest since 2006 to the public and private sector, leading to significant changes in procurement policy and purchasing decisions. Support will be delivered by consultants specialising in the delivery of sustainable procurement advice.

This funding of technical support is aimed at procurement professionals who are interested in progressing sustainable procurement policy internally, but also with relevant stakeholders such as key clients, suppliers and contractors to encourage greater purchase of recycled products and materials.

Organisations interested in applying for support should review the supporting information available on the Envirolink Northwest website and complete the accompanying application by Friday 28 May 2010.
