Comfy buys in Stakehill

Comfy Quilts has acquired a 110,000 sq ft warehouse at Stakehill Industrial Park in Middleton from Bibby Distribution for £5m in an off market deal.

Comfy was advised by Aherne Property Consultants.

The company is a manufacturer of bedding, supplying high street stores and supermarkets. Comfy was already an existing occupier on the Park but was looking to expand and consolidate its business.

SBH acted for the vendor.

Andrew Aherne of Aherne Property Consultants, said: “Comfy Quilts needed a new premises to accommodate its growing business but were keen to stay within on Stakehill Industrial Park where they have been since 2011. We were pleased to have managed to find them a suitable building so quickly in a market with diminishing stock which will enable them to facilitate increased production output with minimum disruption.”

Aherne established Aherne Property Consultants at the end of last year after leaving Lambert Smith Hampton in Manchester, where he was head of the industrial and logistics department for eight years.
