Cole Waterhouse expands Manchester team

The developer has appointed George Smith as planning manager to join its eight-strong team at its offices in Mosley Street, Manchester.

Smith joins from DP9 in London, where he worked as a senior town planner on residential and commercial schemes. He also previously worked at BDP in Manchester, and Avison Young when it was operating under the name of Bilfinger GVA.

On his appointment, Smith said: “Cole Waterhouse has some superb projects which require fast delivery through planning over the next six to 18 months. It’s a really exciting time to join such a fast-growing and ambitious company. I’ll be working closely with the management team in Manchester, London and Birmingham to ensure we maximise potential from the development pipeline and deliver the schemes as efficiently as possible.”

Damian Flood, chief executive of Cole Waterhouse, said: “George is an excellent planner with experience in both surveying and planning practises. He will be a real asset to the team as we deliver our current projects in Manchester and London and as we move into new areas of the country.

“George has significant experience in some of the key sectors we are looking at expanding into and in line with our entrepreneurial environment he will have the remit and freedom to investigate and provide business plans for those,”

Cole Waterhouse is currently working on a project at No.1 Old Trafford, which is a two-tower, 354 apartment scheme being built by contractor Domis. It has also recently exchanged contracts with COIF Charities Property Fund to acquire The Anchorage in Salford Quays, where it plans to build a 290-unit scheme designed by architect Chapman Taylor.
