Cobalt Housing hunts for main contractor

The Liverpool-based housing association is seeking a contractor to deliver 57 homes on Altbridge Park and Stonedale Crescent in Croxteth at a cost of £8.7m.

Cobalt expects that the contract will be awarded in April 2020, and aims to complete the scheme by late 2021.

Planning permission to deliver the 57 affordable homes for rent has not yet been obtained, but the scheme is set to go to committee in the coming months.

Subject to approval, work will begin on the site, which previously housed three blocks of flats, later this year.

The scheme will contain six one-bedroom flats, 18 two-bedroom flats, 12 three-bedroom houses, and one four-bedroom house

Cobalt previously delivered regeneration plans for the adjacent Stonedale Crescent estate in September 2018, but the Altbridge scheme is separate from this.

Cobalt manages 6,000 homes in Fazakerley, Croxteth and Norris Green. It was formed in February 2003.
