Co-op signs three retailers in Rochdale

Landlord Co-operative Insurance has completed three lettings at Rochdale Exchange shopping centre.

River Island has taken a 4,418 sq ft unit at an annual rent of £150,000. River Island is a new entrant to the centre, taking the former JJB unit after relocating from its existing store on Yorkshire Street.

Poundland has opened its first store in Rochdale, acquiring two units comprising 3,898 sq ft on a 10-year lease. The rent is £155,000 a year.

D2 Clothing relocated within the scheme, taking 2,045 sq ft on a 10-year lease at a rent of £85,000 a year.

Other occupiers at the centre include HMV, Boots and Superdrug.

DTZ and Reid Rose Gregory acted for CIS and its fund manager, Axa. Keenan & Co acted for River Island. Cheetham & Mortimer acted for Boots. Capital Retail acted for Poundland.
