Co-op reveals new views of Noma

The Co-operative Group has published new images and an animated film of the £800m NOMA scheme in the east of Manchester city centre but is keeping quiet about the architects behind them.

The images 'emerged from the architectural competitions ' that the group has run for different phases of the 20-acre development.

They show the hotel next to Victoria Station that will be occupied by a Hotel Indigo run by Sanguine Hospitality.

There are also images of offices planned next to the Co-operative headquarters currently on site with BAM Construct.

Architects that are known to be working on the scheme include 3D Reid, designer of the HQ, Mecanoo on public realm and BDP, an energy substation. Around four other firms are believed to be working on the later phases but have not been revealed yet by the Co-op.

Horrible, glass jungle.

And the landscape… no comment!
